Best practices to secure your Figma account Contact Figma about unauthorized access Regularly review your connected apps

Prevent unauthorized access of your Figma account by practicing good security hygiene. This includes using a strong, unique password that you only use for your Figma account and enabling two-factor authentication (2FA), or using an alternative authentication method, such as single sign-on (SSO) with two-factor authentication enabled.

Unauthorized access or other security issues can happen due to many reasons, such as:

  • Sharing or re-using passwords
  • Creating weak or guessable passwords
  • Leaving your computer unlocked or unmonitored in public
  • Having your credentials stolen from a different website if they are the same credentials you use for Figma

To safeguard your account, Figma may proactively reset your password if we suspect there has been unauthorized activity on your account. We do this to prevent additional unauthorized access to your account until you can reset your password.

Best practices to secure your Figma account

Keep the following best practices in mind to help ensure your account remains secure.

Contact Figma about unauthorized access

If you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization, we strongly recommend following these steps to keep your account safe:

  1. Reset your password with a new password that you have never used before.
  2. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
  3. Reset your password on any other accounts that you may have used your previous password for.

Regularly review your connected apps

You should periodically review apps that are connected to your account. Connected apps are third-party apps and platforms that have integrated with Figma and asked for your permission to connect to your account.

  1. From the file browser, click the account menu in the top-left corner and select Settings.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Scroll to the Connect apps section, then review the list of apps.
  4. If there is an app that you want to remove, click Revoke access for that app.

Note: If you're having trouble logging into a connected app, it may not meet Figma's security standards. Please contact the app owner directly and encourage them to address this issue.
