Who can use this feature

Available on any plan

Anyone with can edit access to a slide deck can add object animations

Object animations help you add visual effects to your presentation. For example, you can have an object slide in from off-screen, exit smoothly, or fade in or out of view.

You can animate any object type except for interactive elements, such as live interactions or prototypes.

Note: Objects must be on a slide in order to be animated. You cannot add animations to objects on the canvas.

Add an object animation

  1. Select an object on a slide.
  2. In the Animate tab of the right sidebar, click Add animation next to Object animations to add a new animation.
  3. Use the settings to configure the animation:
    • Style: Choose what the animation will look like.
    • Duration: Choose how long the animation will last.
    • Timing: Choose when the animation should start. The first animation will be set to play On click. For slides that have multiple object animations, you can set an animation to play immediately after the previous animation ends.
    • Animate: Choose whether the object should animate in or out of view.

Note: You can only add one animation per object.

Reorder and group object animations

If you have multiple object animations on a single slide, you can choose the order in which they play.

Reorder animations

Hover over an animation. Then, click and drag the handle to change its position in the animation order.

Group animations

You can group two or more object animations to create an animation sequence. To group animations, select an animation and drag it beneath another until a nested orange line appears. The first animation in the group plays On click, while the others automatically play in a sequence. You can edit and reorder grouped animations as needed. To remove an animation from a group, click and drag it out until an orange line appears, or click Remove animation to delete it.
