Community resource licenses vary by resource type and if that resource is free or paid. See a breakdown of our different licenses below:

Files

Free files

Free files are published under an Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This isn't a public domain license. Creators may choose to license a file under additional license types in addition to CC by 4.0.

CC by 4.0 means that free files can be shared and adapted for any purpose, including commercial purposes:

  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
  • Adapt: Transform and build upon the material

Under CC BY 4.0, Community members need to give credit to the original creator.

Paid files

Paid files are published under the Community Paid Resource License. Creators may not offer commercial files under any other terms.

In addition to the rights and restrictions set forth in the Community Paid Resource License, Users that purchase a paid file may:

  • Share the file contents with up to five editors
  • Incorporate the files contents into unlimited outputs (designs, applications, websites, etc.) Any output must be significantly different than the original files contents, require time, effort, and skill to produce, and not derive its primary value from the file contents itself.

Users may not resell or redistribute the file other than as allowed above.

Slide deck templates

Slide deck templates are published under an Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This isn't a public domain license. Creators may choose to license a template under additional license types in addition to CC by 4.0.

Report a violation

Outside of published remixes, Figma isn't able to track files to ensure appropriate attribution. If you notice that someone is not meeting these requirements, please contact Figma Support.
