Who can use this feature
  • Available on any team or plan
  • Anyone with can edit access in a FigJam file can import a Mural document.
  • Anyone with can edit access in a mural can export the file.

You can import the contents of a Mural board into FigJam. After importing, you’ll be able to edit text as well as move and resize objects.

Tip:

There isn't a way to export boards from Mural in bulk. To find the most relevant boards to export, sort and filter boards in your Mural dashboard by date created, viewed, or updated.

Export from Mural

To export all or part of a board from Mural:

  1. Open the Mural you want to export.
  2. From top toolbar, select Download as...
  3. From the Format menu, choose PDF file
  4. Select the content you want to export.
  5. Click Download. Your image will save to your computer as a PDF file.

Import Mural content to FigJam

After exporting content from Mural, you can:

  • Create a new FigJam file from the Mural PDF
  • Import the content into an existing FigJam file

Create a new FigJam file

  1. Open the Figma file browser.
  2. From Recents, Drafts, or a project, click Import at the top right of the page.
  3. Click Import from computer.
  4. Select one or more Mural PDF files to import.
  5. Select Mural on the Where are your files from? screen and click Confirm.
  6. Click Done once the import is complete.

Tip: You can also drag and drop one or more Mural PDF files into the Figma file browser. Figma will create a new FigJam file for each PDF.

Import into an existing FigJam file

  1. Open a FigJam file.
  2. Click the Figma icon at the top left of the file.
  3. Navigate to File > Import.
  4. Select Mural on the Where are your files from? screen and click Confirm.
  5. Select one or more Mural PDF files.

Tip: You can also drag and drop one or more Mural PDF files straight into the FigJam canvas. Each Mural PDF will get imported into the open FigJam file.

Note: FigJam currently does not support importing:

  • Connectors with text are migrated as images and text
  • Right-to-left text is not supported
  • Text with italics is not supported, and will be migrated as regular text
  • Bulleted lists in stickies are not supported
