Step 1: Claim app licenses Step 2: Test Figma sign in and blocked users Step 3: Confirm your Figma administrator account

This article describes Step 6 when setting up Figma for your school →

Once you have completed the license redemption and API steps, please confirm your completion with the Figma team. You will be notified once your organization's account has been created and your account, or another designated, has been upgraded to serve as the administrator.

At this time, you should test to confirm that access to your Figma account matches your expectations.

Step 1: Claim app licenses

  • After you Figma organization is created, users can sign in to Figma with their school Google Account to claim a license through SSO
  • Licenses are first claimed and then continuously verified when users sign in with their Google Account
  • Figma verifies the app license during sign-in and automatically unlocks content and features with no additional username or password required

Note: Licenses are not automatically assigned to users. With each new license claimed, the allocated count for that app license will increase and the available count will decrease. If you reserve licenses for the organizational units (see below) and have not yet met the reserve, the allocated and available counts will not update.

Step 2: Test Figma sign in and blocked users

We recommend testing that Google SSO works as intended for the selected organization units.

  • Test that an account assigned licenses can sign in
  • Test that sign in fails for accounts not assigned licenses

Step 3: Confirm your Figma administrator account

  1. Visit figma.com and Log in.
  2. Click Continue with Google and sign in with you organization’s administrator email address.
  3. Confirm you are on your organization’s account by checking the left toolbar for:
    • The name of your school or district
    • An admin settings tab

If you do not see the name of your organization and an admin settings tab you may be viewing external teams:

  1. From the file browser, select the dropdown next to External teams.
  2. Select the name of your district or school in the dropdown.
