Publish private plugins

When publishing a plugin, you can use the Publish to setting to choose whether to publish the plugin to the organization or the Community. Private plugins don't need to go through the review process before they are available to use.

  1. In the Figma desktop app, open a file that belongs to the organization you want to publish a private plugin to. You cannot publish private plugins from files outside the organization.
  2. Click the Figma logo in the upper-left corner, then go to Plugins > Manage plugins.
  3. Click next to the plugin and select Publish.
  4. Use the Publish modal to fill out information about your plugin.
  5. Select Organization name to share the plugin privately within the organization.
  6. Click Publish to submit your plugin. The plugin is now available to members of your organization. Guests aren't able to access install or run private plugins.Publish plugin modal with Publish to set to organization

Only the plugin's original publisher can change the plugin's access. They can update this setting by publishing an update to the plugin.

Update the Publish to setting to change who can access the plugin. If you're changing a plugin from private to public, it will need to go through Figma's plugin review process.

If the original publisher has left the organization and you need to transfer ownership of a private plugin, contact the Figma Support team.
