Visual representations of feedback and reactions can be more effective than text. Stamps and emotes are icons used to do just this!

Stamps can be placed in a file for visual feedback. These are great for both live and async collaboration.

Emotes are temporary and great for live, energetic reactions with others who are active in a file.

Stamps

Stamps are curated stickers you can place on the board or object to communicate feedback.

User stamps to:

• Generate heat maps
• Vote between several ideas
• Assign people to tasks
• Gather asynchronous input

How to use stamps:

1. Select the Stamp tool. There are a few ways to do this:

   • Click in the toolbar.
   • Press the keyboard shortcut E.
   • Right-click the board and select Stamp.

2. Click on your stamp of choice from the stamp wheel.

3. Click on the board or on an object to place the stamp.

Stamps will stick to any objects they touch, like sticky notes or images. Hover your stamp over an object until it’s highlighted to stick the stamp to it. Attached stamps will move with the objects they’re stuck to when dragged around the board.

You can also drag a stamp from the stamp tool to your board. To exit out of the stamp tool, press esc.

Team face stamps

If you're part of a Figma organization, use team face stamps to attribute and assign objects on your board to collaborators. Team face stamps can be added to a board in a couple ways:

Toolbar:

1. Click the stack of recent items in the bottom toolbar > More.
2. Click the More tab > Faces.
3. Search for a collaborator or select a face from the suggestions.
4. Click or drag the face to your board.

Stamp wheel:

1. Click in the bottom toolbar or press E.
2. Add your face stamp to the board.
3. Select the stamp and click .
4. Search for a collaborator or select a face from the suggestions.

Resize stamps

Change the size of your stamp while placing it down or after it's been placed.

Hold and wiggle

Increase the size of your stamp while placing it down.

1. Open the stamp wheel and choose your stamp.
2. Click and hold. The stamp will wiggle and grow.
3. Release once you've reached the desired stamp size. Stamps will be fully grown after four stages.

Adjust bounding box

Change the size of a stamp after it's been placed via its bounding box.

1. Click on a stamp that's already been placed. A bounding box with handles will appear.
2. Click and hold one of the handles, then drag your cursor to resize.

Emotes

Emotes are bursts of temporary emoji reactions used to:

• Give support to someone presenting their ideas.
• Provide lightweight feedback while collaborating.
• Greet and capture attention of others in a file.

How to use emotes:

1. Select the emote tool. There are a few ways to do this:

   • Right-click the board and select emote.
   • Click and select emote.
   • With the stamp wheel open, click the to switch to the emote wheel.

2. Click on your emote of choice from the emote wheel.

3. Click anywhere on the board to release a burst of emotes. Click and hold to release an ongoing stream of emotes.

FigJam eventually fades emote mode and switches you back to the select tool if you haven't emoted in a while.

You can also press esc to exit out of the emote tool.

Toggle between stamps and emotes

Press E to bring up the stamp or emote wheel. Press it again to toggle to the other wheel. Press it a third time to close the wheel.

You can also toggle between the two wheels by clicking or in the center of the wheel.

High fives

High fives is a fun way to celebrate achievements, greet others, or capture someone's attention in a file.

How to use high fives:

1. Enter high five mode in one of two ways:
   • Shake your cursor left and right
   • Hold H. Letting go will exit high-five mode.
2. Once in high-five mode, a hand will appear above your cursor. From here, bump your cursor against another collaborator's high five cursor to start high-fiving!
3. When you're done, exit high-five mode in the following ways:
   • Let go of H key.
   • Press Esc
   • Click anywhere in your file
   • Use another keyboard shortcut
   • Open a menu

Figma will also eventually fade your high five hand and switch back to the select tool if you've been idle for a while.
