Grouping allows you to combine FigJam objects and treat them as a single object. Use groups to organize and keep related items together while collaborating with your team in a file.

Create a group

Once you have two or more objects selected, you can group objects a few different ways:

  • Use keyboard shortcut:
    • Mac: ⌘ Command G
    • Windows: Control G
  • Right-click and select Group selection
  • Use the Group selection quick action:
    1. Use ⌘ Command / or Control / to access the quick actions menu.
    2. Search for Group selection.

Ungroup objects

You can ungroup objects a few different ways:

  • Use the keyboard shortcut:
    • Mac: ⌘ Command Shift G or ⌘ Command Delete
    • Windows: Control Shift G or Control Backspace
  • Right-click and select Ungroup

Add objects to a group

Besides duplication, there is no way to directly add an object to a group in FigJam. Instead, you can:

  1. Ungroup the current group of objects.
  2. Create a new selection of objects, including the new object to be added.
  3. Group the new selection.
Note

A group's bounding box will shrink and expand to accommodate all objects within the group.

Remove objects from a group

To remove an object from a group:

  1. Select the object you want to remove.
  2. Use ⌘ Command X or Control X to cut out the selection.
  3. Paste the object outside of the group.
