Who can use this feature

Available on any team or plan

Anyone with a Figma account can create a Community profile

If you’re interested in publishing resources to the Community, you’ll need to create a Community profile. A Community profile let you:

  • Publish resources  to the Community
  • Save resources
  • Comment on resources
  • Like resources and follow creator profiles

You can create an individual Community profile for each of your Figma accounts, or connect a single profile to all of your accounts. Learn more about adding or removing profile connections →

If you are on the Organization or Enterprise plan, there are limitations on who can publish resources to the Community. Learn more about Community publishing permissions →

Note: If you’re a team or organization admin, you can create a Community profile for that team or organization. Learn more about creating and managing team or organization profiles →

Create your Community profile

Every Community profile has a unique profile handle, which is used to identify each creator in the Community.

You can use up to 15 alphanumeric characters in your profile handle, including underscores. If the handle is not available, you’ll be prompted to choose another. You can change your profile handle at any time.

Tip: In some cases, you may be able to claim a profile handle that’s in use on an inactive account. To inquire about claiming a handle, contact Figma Support.

Register or update your profile handle from your account settings:

  1. In the file browser, click your profile picture in the top-left corner.
  2. Select Settings from the account menu, and then select the Community tab.
  3. Click Claim your handle.
  4. Enter your desired handle in the field provided and click Create profile to confirm.

Customize your profile

After you’ve chosen your profile handle, you can customize your profile and add additional information to introduce yourself to the Community.

To access your Community profile:

  1. Open Figma in the file browser.
  2. Select your avatar in the top-left corner to open the account menu.
  3. Hover over the Community profile dropdown menu. A list of Community profiles you have access to will display.
  4. Select the profile you want to update.

The Community profile dropdown menu under the account settings menu. The cursor is hovering over the Figma Community profile.

You’ll be redirected to the profile’s Community page where you can update the following information:

  • Profile picture: Your Community profile picture is the same picture you uploaded for your internal Figma profile. You can change this in your account settings. Profile picture images must be at least 500 x 500 px.
  • Cover artwork: Click the Pencil icon to upload cover artwork.
  • Bio: Add a brief description of up to 160 characters.
  • Location: Click to add or update the location of the creator, team, or organization.
  • Websites: Click to add or update the website. This can be a link to a business website or support page. There are dedicated fields for X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

Your profile will show any files, plugins, and widgets you've been listed as a creator or contributor on. You can manage which resources appear on the page:

  • Publish files to the Figma Community
  • Remove or unpublish Community files
  • Publish plugins to the Figma Community
  • Remove published plugins
  • Publish widgets to the Figma Community
  • Remove published widgets

Manage Community notifications

You will receive in-app notifications for activity related to the Community. You can choose to also receive email notifications for comments on your published resources, replies, and @mentions. Learn more about email notifications →

Delete your Community profile

Delete your profile to remove your public Community profile.

Deleting your profile will:

  • Unpublish any free files, plugins, or widgets you have published. Paid resources will be delisted. You can still access these resources within your account.
  • Remove you as a creator from files, plugins, and widgets you contributed to.
  • Make your @handle available to other members of the Community.

Note: Deleting your Community profile will not delete your Figma account.

To delete your Community profile:

  1. Open the account menu in the top-left corner of the file browser and select Settings > Community.
  2. Scroll down to the Profile section and click Delete public profile.
