Set up notifications for new paid seats

In March 2025, Figma introduced updates to how seats and other billing features work. This article describes the updated billing model.

Who can use this feature

Admins only

On paid plans, admins use seat approval settings to managing incoming seat requests.

If you use the Auto-approve seats setting, you can set up email digest notifications to keep track of seat upgrades.

The email digest notification includes a list of auto-approved new paid seats. Admins choose the cadence of the email digest notification.

Note: You can also receive notifications each time someone requests a seat upgrade.

Set up notifications for new paid seats

To set up email notifications for upgraded seats:

From the file browser, click Admin.
Select the Settings tab.
Under the Billing section, click Seat upgrade digests.
Select one, or both, from the Daily or Weekly options:
- Daily: Get an email every day listing new paid seats from the previous day.
- Weekly: Get an email every Monday listing new paid seats from the last Monday to Sunday period.
Choose whether to send emails to all admins on the team or only certain admins.
Click Save.

To set up email notifications for upgraded seats:

From the file browser, click Admin.
Select the Settings tab.
Under the Billing section, click Seat upgrade digests.
Select one, or both, from the Daily or Monthly options:
- Daily: Get an email every day listing new paid seats from the previous day.
- Monthly: Get an email on the first day of the month listing new paid seats for the previous month.
Choose who should get notified:
- All admins: All organization admins
- Specific admins: You can select which organization admins to notify. If you start typing someone’s name and they don’t show up, consider double-checking whether they are an organization admin.
Click Save.
